I think we are in for a cool Thursday tomorrow when we close on our new house. I'll try to take some pictures and put them online for you to see. I've been packing boxes and trying to get things ready to go with all the moving and possible painting and carpet cleaning.
We had a nice walk through on Monday evening and got a tutorial in how to clean and operate our new pool. I've never had a pool so I hope we like it! We won't be getting much use out of it this year, but I'm looking forward to next summer.
Still trying to decide what colors to paint the rooms. I think it's fun to look at all the colors but sometimes it's just overwhelming.
My grandmother is also coming for a visit this next week so she'll have plenty to do I hope.

It's a hazy hot day in Chicago and I'm enjoying the melodies of several car alarms that are attached to cars that saw their better days in the early 1990s. We won't have to endure the insanity for much longer however. We are pretty much set to move to our new abode in the first week of October. It's a lovely typical suburban home with a kick butt basement so I think we will have fun realizing that maybe we don't have too much stuff.
We went to Portland OR last weekend and I finally got to see Astoria as well, where they filmed one of my favorite movies of all time... The Goonies. I've been trying to get there for 20 years and last Sunday Martin and I parked our rental at the foot of trheir driveway (as requested) and we climbed the hill to see the house used in the movie. Very fun to see it in person. We also went to Cannon Beach, home of the famous (in my eyes) Haystack Rock used in various films as well, but just really cool to look at too.

I have been reading through other's blogs and am glad to see that almost everyone of them has something linking to the Red Cross donation page. I won't clog up the boring blog with stuff about it other than to say that I am saddened by what I see on tv.
The place of my first job is now gone so that's a little sad. I just pray that the government can get those people out of there and get them fed.

On a happier note, we have signed a contract and gotten an inspection of the house we hope to buy by the end of the month. I'm very excited and never thought we would have a pool! Should be interesting...My mother says its a major cash drain, but I doubt it's that bad.
I have another job interview next week, yay! Maybe this one will work out.
