Another lovely Saturday at work. But all is not in vain as I get to go on vacation this week. Well, on Thursday anyway. Martin and I are going to try and head to Sydney Australia. One of the hardest places to get as a non-rev airline person. We'll be gone 7 days but only have 5 in Australia. With time changes and International Date Lines to deal with it is kind of fun to get a really long day (talking 47 hours almost)coming home.
Friday I tried to keep kosher for Passover and enjoy an Indian buffet with Karin, Martin and Dave. This meant no rice and no naan, which I loooove so much. Did okay and ate the tandoori chicken. Also went for a walk with Karin in the Busse Woods Forest Preserve and went to Target to look at cheap patio furniture. I bought some cute lights for the patio to which Martin replied "hope you kept the receipt." How unfun.
At the house, Karin and I were surprised to find a duck in the swimming pool. I attempted to take pictures with my crappy digital mini camera but they came out very fuzzy.
We just had a woman come into the library and ask if we ever had "Adult Only" times at the library. She said that her pool in Richmond always had adult only times since it was getting to where no one could get into the pool because of so many children. WE said no that wouldn't happen but that if we got our addition referendum the children would be more separate from everyone else. Mind you there are about 6 people in the library right now. It is absolutely quiet excet for one slightly fussy baby. People need to get a grip.

Saw "V for Vendetta" last night with my co-worker Karin. And then on the way home I thought I saw a lit up Nativity Scene in someone's yard. Turned out to be four nicely dressed, lit from the inside bunnies on a gazebo. So, close but not really Jesus, which is what I thought originally when I yelled "Hey! Is that Jesus?" as we drove by.
Martin & I finally got our new daybed for the guest room delevered, but it is still unassembled. Not a biggie. Give us something to do tomorrow.

People have been wanting me to write more on here so I am happy to oblige.

I am now officially an aunt too. Martin's sis Barbara had a baby girl two weeks ago named Abigail May. She is very cute and has a very nice mouth and nose. I look at pics of when I was a newborn and I look like a cross between a constipated toad and being relatively cute. Abigail just looks cute.

My parents are still heading to Rome in May. We are thinking of a trip to Australia but that's if and only if I can get the first day of my 6 month trial through hellfire off for vacation. I think Australia would be awesome because of their interesting animals and the fact that they kind of talk like Americans. Also, it will be a cool flight, definitely the longest I've ever taken and my first foray into the Southern Hemisphere. We were close when we went to Palau, but no cigar.

I am now trying to plant things in my new backyard. Martin seems to like the idea of big grassy areas and I'm trying to determine the best place to grow things. So far on my planned list of things to grow: tomatoes, cucumbers, gourds and sunflowers. With herbs in a big pot. I hate to tear up the big grassland in the backyard, but if I plant these things in the front the hoodlums in the neighborhood will likely trampled them. Now I also want to get some pretty pots for flowers for the front and I think some of the ones I found in St. Augustine last year will fit the bill perfectly.

Things we are hoping to buy to enjoy the summer:
Bicycles
Patio Table & chairs
Gas grill
Fire pit thing
Hammock
