Some things I have done in the past two weeks ( in no particular order):
*flew to Montreal
*ate bagels in Montreal
*searched for Habitat 67 in Montreal and realized I wasn't going to get a view from the island we were on
*drank a good beer called Rickard's Red
*went on a hike at the Moraine Hills State Park
*hugged Jim Hanson goodbye
*read the fourth Kathy Reichs book, Fatal Voyage in 1 1/2 days.
*watched the old movie, The Wicker Man
*finished a scarf with yarn I had bought almost four years ago
*took a nap in my hammock
*won the Africa scenario on Railroad Tycoon
*bought new plates and bowls and such

And quite possibly the best thing I've done in the past two weeks:
*Started my new job!!!!

Wow, a girl quits her job and she just stops updating her musings.
I spent almost four glorious days in Alabama last week. For the most part I had some qualms about writing about my trip here since I didn't visit all the people I had planned tovisit and some of you might be thinking,"Hey that girl didn't even tell me she was in that part of the country." It's hard to keep up with where I am myself sometimes. So yes, I went to Alabama, specifically I was staying in Tuscaloosa. I was with my lovely friend KellyAnn and her husband and two lovely dogs. Here is a run-down of what I experienced:
*Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, ALA
*The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrement in Hanceville
*Jim 'n' Nick's BBQ
*mango lassi in Birmingham
*Waverly Plantation tour, Columbus, MS
*baba ganoush at Hooligan's in Tuscaloosa
*the head of Ronald Reagan in a McDonald's
*the face in the window of the Picken County Courthouse.
*an introduction to Squidbillies
*A movie called "Teeth"
*buying antique jewelry in Northport
*delicious egg drop grits

There is probably much more that I am just not remembering right now so forgive me or remind me! The spur of the moment trip rocked and I wanted to let everyone know that I'll spread the Amy love more next time I'm in Alabama.
