Well, we have been keeping Henry busy!
We managed to take him out all day last last weekend to the Renegade Craft Fair, the Celtic Fest and then dinner at the new Trader Vic's in downtown Chicago. He was a perfect angel. We hung out at the Renegade with his new baby friend Klein and her folks and bought many baby outfits, a poster of Brooklyn for Martin and a glow in the dark poster of sputnik for Henry. Hopefully it won't give him nightmares.

Traffic was heavy from Wicker Park to the Loop so we made it to our appointment (read: hospitality tent) at the Celtic Fest about 10 minutes after the hospitality was technically over. But never fear, the Canadian welcoming party got to meet Henry and then we headed to the flynovascotia.com tent to hear the guy who sang about United and guitars NOT sing about United and guitars. If you missed that news story, Martin is glad! We listened to his set and as darkness came over Grant Park we all decide to get some nosh. Since some of our friends lived near the new Trader Vic's we agreed that it would be a great place to go since Martin had been trying to get us there since it opened. We met up with about5 other folks for a huge dinner including beef cho-cho (We had previously enjoyed it in Scottsdale a few years back) and Henry enjoyed looking at everyone and getting a bottle to enjoy. I was amazed at how well he did on the trip and I can only hope that half of our future trips are as good as this one.

Quick rundown of other things we have done lately:
*checked out a couple of open houses in the Highland Park/Evanston areas
*attended Rosh Hashanah services (L'shana tova y'all)
*made videos of Henry making noises
*took Henry to the Post Office
*Martin made an effort and got in the pool for probably the last time this summer

Today was our great Jewel adventure. It marks the first time that Henry & I went to the grocery for a more involved shopping time with just the two of us. This comes on the heels of him getting most of his 2 month shots yesterday and having a rather restless night.
We are expecting some sort of guests this weekend we think. Also we are preparing for Henry's second adventure downtown to Chicago. We took Henry downtown last week to see Martin's office and eat lunch at McCormick and Schmicks. It was a great short trip and this weekend we are planning on a trip for the Celtic Fest and the Renegade Craft Fair. Little additions at a time will make Henry a great traveler!

A new month and Henry is officially 8 weeks old today. He is learning very quickly that when I really want him to take a nap he decides "not right now, thank you." He is growing and gaining weight daily it seems. I am excited to see how much he weighs next week at the doctor's visit. Of course, I know I can do that weird weighing thing by weighing myself without holding him and then weighing myself holding him, but that requires me to want to see what I weigh!

My parents are coming to visit this weekend and it is also Martin's birthday on Monday. We don't have a whole lot planned, but I do hope to get the 'rents to maybe watch Henry for a few hours so we can go see the new Tarantino movie. We are probably going downtown on Thursday to meet Martin for lunch and so his coworkers can meet Henry. I am having a hard time picking out a good, cute outfit for him to wear!

On a weird note, since Henry got here I have not had much of a taste for anything. In other words, nothing really tastes good. The only two flavors I am loving are chocolate and lemon, but not together. I am loving chocolate ice cream and these frozen lemon bars or a Sonic lemon slush like they are going out of style. On the whole, not really bad tastes to be having, but I really wish that pizza tasted as good as it did before...

Well, only about a month of pool weather is left. Anyone want to guess how many times we have used our pool this summer? It is really sad.
